2010 Educational Scholarships

The North Carolina Association of Assessing Officers and the North Carolina Tax Collectors Association Scholarship Committee is proud to announce the winners of our 2010 educational scholarships in the amount of $1,000.  Winners are Hannah Harrison, daughter of Sheila Harrison of Surry County, and Cameron T. Yow, son of Mary C. Yow of Lee County.

Hannah Harrison plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.  Her expected majors are journalism and mass communications. After graduation, she wants to pursue a career in marketing.

Cameron Yow’s first choice of schools for higher education is Duke University. He has always been interested in world history so his goal is to major in history and minor in education. Cameron hopes to become a high school teacher on an Honors or AP level.

Each year we have a very talented group of students who apply for our annual scholarships and 2010 is no exception.  Our associations are proud of each and every one of our applicants and wish all of them the best in their future endeavors.
